As Operations Manager, the majority of John Peplow’s work is deep in the details. Once an advisor meets with a client, John is behind the scenes managing the administrative process that follows with accuracy and expediency.
With broad operational experience in the financial industry, John enjoys the variety his position offers each day and the opportunity to wear many hats. He is the nuts and bolts behind operations at Christopher Street and oversees the firm’s transactional business.
John moved to New York City in 2000 expressly to assume responsibility for Christopher Street’s growing operations. He brought over two decades in experience from financial firms in the Midwest. John got his start in the proverbial mailroom at Dean Witter, then moved up as an operations specialist at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), Pershing, and Merrill Lynch in Chicago, then Huntleigh Securities in St. Louis.
Throughout his career, John has had the fortunate experience of working within organizations that were growing and evolving. He believes that being exposed to these challenges has made him more versatile and effective in serving client’s needs today.
In his thirties, while John was working full-time, he went back to school. He earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago Phi Beta Kappa. John also holds a Series 24, General Securites Principal.
In his spare time, John enjoys gardening. For the last nine years he has transformed an empty lot of concrete rubble near his home in Harlem into an oasis with more than 50 types of flowers, shrubs and trees. When he’s not tending his garden, he likes to bicycle and spend quiet time at home with Ron, his partner.
